FSC Germany and FSC International are organizing a one-day conference to bring together diverse actors from the packaging supply chain to exchange views on sustainable packaging, discuss challenges and foster joint efforts. The event, which will take place on 13 May 2014 in Düsseldorf, Germany, will be a side event at the Interpack trade fair. FSC will host an exciting day of seminars, plenary sessions, engaging discussions and opportunities to network with other stakeholders in the international packaging sector.
Who is the conference for?
The conference will be of interest to all those involved in the packaging supply chain. This includes suppliers of raw materials and manufactured packaging, packaging designers, retailers, managers of branded stores and companies, and marketing and sales managers. It specifically caters to those who are interested in developing or enhancing their sustainability policies, and those who either already work with FSC certified materials and FSC labelled packaging, or who hope to do so in the future.
The conference will be particularly useful for those involved in the packaging supply chain in the food, cosmetics, medicine, paper, stationery and office supply sectors, as well businesses using adhesive labels, corrugated paper and cardboard boxes.
Agenda
The conference agenda is still under development, and we are working to confirm key speakers and seminar contents.
The seminars are likely to focus on:
• market trends in demand and supply of FSC certified material
• implementing the FSC chain of custody standard and using FSC trademarks
• staying up-to-date with the EU timber regulation and the FSC Online Claims Platform
• contribution of certification to brand value and corporate social responsibility
• responsible packaging as a marketing strategy.
Keynotes will be held by SCA Sustainable Packaging amongst others.
