The FSC Board appreciates the recent steps taken by APP to become a more responsible company in the field of plantation management and forest conservation following its 2013 Forest Conservation Policy (FCP).
As a result of the ongoing due diligence process, the FSC Board expects to be in a position in the second half of 2014 to consider a roadmap for APP to achieve re-association with FSC. Such a decision will be linked to results from the independent evaluation of APP’s Forest Conservation Policy being conducted by the Rainforest Alliance. It will also depend upon whether APP’s legacy of past natural forest conversion can be considered addressed and whether further technical analyses demonstrate APP’s full compliance with the FSC
Policy for Association.
