The event will focus on how smallholder products can access better supply chains and, more broadly, the global market.
It will take a participatory approach to engaging FSC members in discussing topics about smallholders and FSC certification, and sharing knowledge on smallholders’ situation worldwide. Supply chain improvements and the use of key account management will be discussed as strategies that could be used to overcome the challenges of market access.
The workshop will also identify partners that could help smallholders develop stronger supply chains, such as financial organizations or education and development agencies.
Two guest speakers will present the producer and retailer perspective on a single supply chain. The session will close with an audience discussion which will be documented to produce a set of written recommendations from the workshop.
Please come early to the event as the venue limits attendance to sixty people. The workshop will be conducted in English, but Spanish and French interpreters will also be available.
